Annual Conference Event

Greetings! This information is being sent to all clergy and lay delegates to the 2006 Florida United Methodist "Witness with Power" Annual Conference Event being held June 1-3 at the Lakeland Center, 700 West Lemon Street, Lakeland, Florida. Florida Southern College will be our host for campus housing. Check-in for campus housing (pre-registration required) and registration for the annual conference event opens on Wed., May 31.

Enclosed you will find:

1.
    
A letter from Florida Southern College about campus housing and meal tickets for the campus cafeteria. (Pre-registration required by May 12.)
2.
 
A reservation card to make campus housing reservations and/or purchase a meal ticket.
3.
  
A list of Lakeland area hotels, including special rates offered to annual conference delegates.
4. A map of Lakeland area hotels and points of interest.
5. An annual conference schedule that will help you in your planning.

Be sure to mention the Florida United Methodist Annual Conference Event when making your hotel reservation to get the special rates. Please make note of the cut-off date set by the hotel, at which time the hotel may release any rooms not already booked and the special rate will expire. We recommend that you make your reservation early since each hotel has set aside a certain number of rooms at this special rate.

There will be a shorter lunch break this year due to the shortened schedule of the annual conference event (3 days instead of 4); therefore lunch will not be offered at the Florida Southern College cafeteria. Alternate lunch options will be offered at the Lakeland Center to enable delegates to remain on-site for the shortened lunch break. The Connections Luncheon, which is open to all, will be on Thursday at the Lakeland Center.
