What if someone told you that a thinner, healthier, and longer life was within your grasp?
Sound too good to be true?

According to a wealth of research, exercise is the silver bullet for a better quality of life. Not only does regular exercise aid in weight loss, it reduces your risk for several chronic diseases and conditions. Finding activities that you enjoy and that become part of your daily routine is the key to a long and healthy life. The list of health benefits is impressive, and the requirements are relatively simple -- just do it.
The Florida Conference Board of Pension & Health Benefits (CBOPHB) began a robust wellness program for participants last year. This year, we are increasing our commitment and investment in the health of our population by offering a new physical activity program called: Virgin HealthMiles. This program was selected because it supports a wide range of physical activity and financially rewards participants who meet their health goals.
To support the introduction, the CBOPHB will be sponsoring the membership (including a onetime fee of $19.99 for the Go Zone step tracker) for the first 50 clergy participants who enroll in Virgin HealthMiles onsite during Annual Conference. All appointed clergy are eligible to enroll in Virgin HealthMiles. Lay employees must be enrolled in the Conference health insurance plan with United HealthCare to join Virgin HealthMiles.
As a participant in the program, you will receive a GoZone step tracker to track your progress toward health goals and rewards. Wear the GoZone at all times and you will accrue steps when you walk, run, bike, play basketball or tennis, golf, dance or take part in other physical activities you enjoy. You can also earn HealthMiles for “active minutes”—which are recorded when your GoZone counts at least 135 steps in a minute for accelerated activity.
"HealthMiles" is the program's version of reward points, and you earn them by tracking your daily activity with your GoZone, a Polar heart rate monitor (purchased separately) or entering activities in your activity journal. HealthMiles translate into rewards like HealthCash. HealthCash can be redeemed for gift cards to popular national retailers like Target and Best Buy. You can also have the cash deposited directly and securely into your bank account.
This program is made available for our participants in conjunction with the Center for Clergy Health at the General Board of Pension & Health Benefits.
