About The Resource Center
The Florida United Methodist Resource Center is now located in the North Central District Office, 509 NE 1st Street, Gainesville, FL 32601. It is open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It operates by mail or walk-ins for the United Methodist churches in the Florida Conference, as well as for camps, U.M. campus ministries, Florida United Methodist Children's Home, and other non-profit organizations within the conference. It is also available for individuals and other non-United Methodist churches.
The Resource Center has an extensive collection of audio-visual program materials provided for your use by the Florida United Methodist Conference
Membership and Usage
There are no membership fees. All United Methodist churches connected to the Florida Annual Conference are automatically able to use the Resource Center.
There is no limit to the number of resources a church or an individual can use during a period of time. All usage depends on the availability of the resource. Resources should always be reserved for the time of usage and returned promptly. When available, resources are sent out 10-12 days ahead of the first show date so they can be previewed by the user before the scheduled program.
Fees and Billings
The user fee is $5.00 per video plus $7.00 shipping and handling. This fee will vary depending on your location and need of immediate delivery. The $5.00 user fee also applies to churches who visit our on site resource center to check out resources. All users are responsible for the cost of return postage or replacement if the resource is lost or damaged.
An invoice, sent with the resource, itemizes the titles of the resources used and the name of the contact person using the resource. Overdue notices are sent when a resource is not returned or payment is not made within a reasonable time. No overdue fees are added unless a resource is extremely overdue or lost.

Licensing
U.S. Copyright Law requires a license for public performances of videos, of major motion pictures labeled with "in home use only", at any function or event outside the home. The law applies equally to for-profit and non-profit organizations, regardless of whether an admission fee is charged. Non-compliance can lead to civil fines. Most of the videos in the Resource Center are made for public use and are purchased with public performance rights included.
The Florida Conference has an umbrella license with the Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI), an independent copyright service organization. If your church is not already licensed through the Florida Conference, please contact Customer Service at United Methodist Communications, (888) 346-3862. UMCom also has an umbrella contract with CVLI and can add new members at a discounted group rate. The discount is determined by church membership numbers. Additionally, there are savings for churches with day care facilities and/or schools that are on church grounds and use video movies. For more information and a list of participating film/video production companies, go to their website www.cvli.org or you can call Linda Mills at CVLI (888) 771-2854.
