Annual Conference Event to be Webcast Live

The 2007 Florida Annual Conference Event is June 6-9 at the Lakeland Center. Its theme is “From Generation to Generation,” derived from Psalm 145:4, “One generation shall laud your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” This year's session will be four days, ending Saturday, June 9.

The 2007 Annual Conference Event will feature a strong emphasis on sharing the stories, experiences and traditions of faith from one generation to the next. Through worship, preaching, singing, conducting the business of the annual conference and times of fellowship, annual conference members will demonstrate how we praise God, strengthen our faith and grow deeper in our walk with the Lord “From Generation to Generation.”

One important item of business to be conducted during the session will be the election of lay and clergy delegates to the 2008 General Conference. The Florida Conference will elect 13 lay and 13 clergy delegates plus alternates to this international quadrennial meeting, to be held in late April 2008 in Fort Worth, Texas, where United Methodist policy and doctrine is debated and set. In addition, the Florida Annual Conference will elect 13 lay and 13 clergy delegates, plus alternates, to the 2008 Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference.
